DATA LOGGER
The Waikura Data Logger is designed for monitoring
Cathodic Protection (CP) Rectifiers and Test Stations over a period of
time. It is housed in a small, lightweight, environmentally sealed, anodised
package to enable installation in the field under any weather conditions
for any length of time. The instrument is ideally designed for recording
half-cell voltages and currents over time and producing pipeline graphs.
It has a programmable start and stop time of up to one month ahead to
allow automatic recording initiation.
The instrument is connected directly to CP rectifiers
and test stations using test leads with quick connect quarter turn 4-pin
or 7-pin MS plugs for input (1-2 or 3-4 input channels). It is environmentally
sealed to withstand flooding and has an electrically isolated case. The
data can be collected over hours, days, weeks or even months and is downloaded
to the windows based analysis software on a PC via RS232 serial cable,
also connected by a military specification (MS) style plug. The logger
has no built in display or user controls as all normal communication and
programming is carried out through the computer. The only hardware control
is a start/stop facility using an MS shorting plug on the input to allow
the logger to be shifted from site to site without requiring a computer.
Features:
- Instrument programming, data upload and graphing
is done with a Windows PC interface.
- Automatic data file naming.
- Large memory (400,000 readings) 46 days at every
10 seconds.
- Programmable future start & stop times (up to
1 month ahead).
- Hardware start/stop switch (does not require a computer
to move to a new test point).
- Quick connect ¼ turn MS plugs for analogue data
inputs and PC serial connection.
- Environmentally sealed (can withstand flooding)
- Small package (fits down 3-inch pipe).
- Long life battery (exceeding 3 months between charges).
- Data head contains logger identification, site number,
clock and data summary.
- Data summary contains number of readings, average,
maximum, minimum, time below a preset value and time in the day that
the data summary is not updated.
