hardware, V3.1 Dec 1999 software
Function:
Switches the DC output of a corrosion protection power supply synchronously
with other units at other sites.
Switching current: 100
A DC maximum, over-current protection.
Switching voltage: 75 V DC maximum, over-voltage and reverse voltage protection.
Voltage drop across switch: 0.5 V maximum at 100 A.
Switch terminals: Brass terminal posts 8 mm ISO coarse 1.25 mm pitch.
Power: Internal battery - NiCd, 6 cell, 7.2 V, 500 mAh.
Battery charger:
Mains or 12 V external battery - 14 hours for full charge. For best stability,
and to keep the battery charged, all units should be on charge at all
times.
Battery discharge time:
12 hours.
Relative drift between instruments after synchronising:60 ms over
106 hours (7 am Monday till 5 pm Friday) typical. 5 to 25 øC. 150 parts
per billion typical.
Serial connection:
RS232C for adjusting the on and off times, clock and survey times on the
unit chosen to be the master. Not electrically isolated from the switch.
Range of on and off times: 60 ms to 30 000 ms (0.06 to 30 s) in 10 ms
steps.
Synchronising Line-Trek to Line-Trek:
Serial cable connection between a unit
chosen as master and any other unit as a slave. Pressing the master's
pushbutton initiates the synchronisation.
External Synchronism:
Capable of synchronisation with a Miller J1 or J2 model interrupter in
both directions - with a delay to handle Miller relay pull-in/release
time. An externally applied +5 to 0 V transition or contact closure will
synchronise the Line-Trek so that its switch will be turned on after the
set delay. Pressing the Line-Trek's pushbutton will initiate a 0.5 second
+5 to 0 to +5 V pulse, the front edge of which will occur the set delay
before the next available Line-Trek switch on time.
RS232C Connector: DB9 male. Cable: Null modem for synchronising and PC
communication.
Electrical isolation: isolated
between case and switch.
Not isolated between RS232 ground (pin 5) and the switch. RS232C pin 5
and the synchronising common are connected internally to the - terminal.
Do not connect an earthed computer to the unit when the switch
is connected in circuit. A laptop running on its internal battery may
be used.
Temperature range:
-20 to +50 øC.
Humidity:
0 to 95% non condensing.
Size:
200 x 179 x 88 mm.
Weight:
2.7 kg.
Case:
black anodised aluminium and polyester powder coated steel.
